Not to touch the earth

777-1900
All photographs by Jason Romero (jphoto777 on Etsy)

«A storm chaser of sorts, Jason has always found beauty in landscapes with a cloud filled stormy sky. From a boy playing in the rain, Jason finds himself out side alone waiting for the storm. Equally beautiful, Jason finds peace where the mist is thick and the land is cold.

To capture these dark images, Jason uses high-speed film creating a beautifully grainy landscape filled with texture and drama. Jason Romero's images depict an almost surreal lonesome landscape. Places that lie somewhere between our dreams and nightmares. Enjoy.»

All photographs taken with an early 1900's Century field camera.

Wikipedia will tell you more about the field camera.

Not to touch the earth
Proudly standing on a paper boat,
We were both enjoying the weather.
Bing, the juvenile vessel sank.
Saved by a strong sinking horse,
I raise my hand:
Are we really touching the earth?
Cos when Horsy says: Close your eyes,
Still mermaids sexy moanings all around.

Where did the werewolf bite?

If the werewolf has sucked your neck,
Enjoy, it could be worse.

If the monster has clamped your hand,
Keep praying with one.

If the beast has hurt your breast,
A truck full of candy tears.

If the critter has gripped your mouth,
Silence sounds a smart answer.

If the demon has caught your butt,
Dance till 3 in the morning.

If the villain has snapped your sex,
Snap a glimpse of sky.

And if the animal has bitten your hip,
Simply drink water.

May the curse disappear by itself.

Dancing bears

What's a bear hug?
• A wrestling hold with arms locked tightly around the opponent.
• A takeover bid so attractive that the directors of the target company must approve it or risk shareholder protest.
• A rough, tight hug.

At Etsy.com there are many illustrations of bear hugs. I mean the last kind of bear hug in the list. With little girls. Here's some of them.

What that might be.

«The Ghost's Library series of photos was taken in unused rooms at a boarding school built in 1878, whose Gothic architecture is truly stunning. The light coming into the top floor where the images were shot is remarkable, and shifts and changes as the day progresses. The rooms are left as I found them with only the addition of my daughters as models.

There is something magical about capturing an instance in time through photography. The image becomes a moment that can be held and gazed upon. With the advent of digital technology the artist is able to capture more information in each frame and is then able to draw out these details and colors, and contrasting dark and light that would normally lay hidden. Each instance of working with an image that I have taken is like opening a treasure chest of possibilities. I sincerely hope that the viewer enjoys my work, even if it strikes a discordant note or makes one feel slightly uncomfortable. I hope to create a sense of anticipation and a wish to know how the 'story' ends. That an image inspired feeling is what is desirable to me.

One reviewer described my work thus:
"The darker images conjure the suspense of something not quite right happening in the very next frame." Exactly. And I am going to let you decide what that might be.»

Wow.

I think I'm in love with these beautiful mysterious photographs. Moonlight sings, sunlight screams.
